We are keenly interested in traditional skills and initially hand-make all our collections. We take our inspiration from the quirky and the weird, from Russian dolls to memento mori, from the grand to the rude. We are particularly interested in the idea of interpretation and we like the idea of twisting things slightly to create a new visual language.
This collection takes inspiration from old Victorian cameos, Edwardian miniatures and memento mori. We have designed and created beautifully crafted and traditionally silversmithed settings which, in a contemporary twist we then fill with resin and treasured items. The concept and purpose of these treasured images is still the same as the original cameos; a celebration of memory and a physical reminder of a person. All that has changed is the means of retaining the image.
